Kevin Smith has been performing for over 30 years. His guitar playing is always entertaining and his rhythm solid. His singing voice is deep and warm, and has been likened to a mix of Leonard Cohen and Louis Armstrong. He has played and recorded with a variety of bands including David Thompson and Thunder Road. As a founding member of Nickelfinger Kevin co-wrote all of the music on their independent release, No Separation, and performed at the Edmonton Folk Music Festival, First Night Festival, opened for Quartette at the Jack Singer Concert Hall in Calgary and did several live performances on CBC Radio.
Rhonda Lynn has been playing violin and singing for over 30 years. The warmth and ease in her playing is a pleasure to listen to and her strong, clear voice reflects her years of training and experience. With her classical and jazz training in violin and voice she is equally comfortable playing Telemann and Mozart or soloing on a jazz standard. She plays regularly at weddings and other functions in the city, including the Muttart Conservatory, Fantasy Grill and Devonian Gardens. She has Diplomas with Distinction in Violin Performance, Music Writing, and Recording from Grant MacEwan College. She is currently teaching violin privately. Although her focus is on swing, jazz and classical, she also sings and plays country, pop, and her original music.
Rhonda and Kevin were received by an enthusiastic audience when they opened for Michael Jerome Brown at the Northern Lights Folk Club. They have also played at the Sugar Bowl Café, Expressionz Café, Bella Beans and many private and corporate functions.
Rhonda and Kevin can be seen playing in malls in and around Edmonton during the Christmas Season every year.
